Dr. Babafemi Oyewole, the Managing Director/CEO of the Energy Synergy Partners, has over 25 years’ experience with public and private sector institutions at national and regional levels. He started his career as an Economist with the Bank of Industry, Nigeria and later joined the Banque International du Benin where he left as General Manager. From 2009 to 2015, he was the Executive Director/CEO of the African Petroleum Producers’ Association Fund for Technical Cooperation, developing oil, gas and energy policy and projects in 16 African countries. Dr. Oyewole was the Managing Director/CEO of the African Cashew Alliance (ACA), Accra, Ghana where he managed regional, international stakeholders and donor projects and relationships. Dr. Oyewole was a Chevening Scholar at Bradford University, U.K, for his PhD in Development Finance and Policy. He attended the Harvard University, USA for Executive Certificate in Private Enterprise Development. He was a member of the Board of African Petroleum Institute, Cairo, Egypt and serves on the Boards of Orabank, Benin and Supreme Microfinance bank, Lagos Nigeria. He is an UNCTAD Regional Consultant on local content development in the mining, oil and gas industry.
